Logging onto Your UNIX Account

1. Click on the Start button on the left hand side of the windows taskbar.
   Point to All Programs or Programs.
   Point to WinSCP3.
   Click on WinSCP to launch the WinSCP program.

2. Type cs12.cs.qc.cuny.edu in the textbox labeled Host name:.
   Type your UNIX account username in the textbox labeled User name:.
   Type your UNIX account password in the textbox labeled Password:.
   Click the Login button.

   

3. If you get a Warning dialog box, click the Yes button.
   

4. Assuming you typed the host name, your username and your password correctly, you should be logged into your UNIX account. Your screen should display a window like the window below except some of the text inside your window will differ from the text inside the window below.

   

5. If you mistyped the host name, your username, or your password then you'll have to start back at step 1 above.

Logging off Your UNIX Account

Remember: Always logout when you are finished using your UNIX account.

To logout of your UNIX account, click the F10 Quit button at the bottom of the WinSCP program window.
